【内容紹介】
1945年8月、原爆により52歳の生涯を閉じた内科医・角尾晋（長崎医大学長）は、若き日ドイツに留学、日記に換えた手紙を留守宅に送った。
船旅41日、ワイマール共和国の危機の年も研究室に通い、相対的安定期に入った年に論文を提出、翌25年に帰国、長崎に赴任した。
【著者略歴】
1892年東京市生まれ。
1913年第一高等学校卒業、東京帝国大学医科大学医学科入学。
22～25年独・英・米の留学へ。
帰国後25年より長崎医科大学第一内科教室教授。
45年原子爆弾による急性症にて逝去。
享年52歳。
