Description of Products ■ Ikazuchi is a special type (Fubuki type) destroyer commissioned in 1932. The last four ships including this one were also called special type III.
At the start of the war, Ikazuchi was a member of the 6th Destroyer of the 1st Torpedo Squadron. After participating in the Battle of Surabaya and the Battle of Solomon Sea in 1942, Ikazuchi was engaged in escort missions including fleet transportation.
In April 1944, while escorting a fleet off Guam, Ikazuchi was struck by a torpedo attack by the US Navy submarine Harder and sank.
